Fabulous [Posted on 2007-06-26] The only thing I would change about this is to offer it with a FireWire 800 option instead of USB. Otherwise, it's fast, reliable and well worth every penny.
160 GB LaCie Mobile Drive [Posted on 2007-07-03] This portable USB hard drive has met my expectations. I did not find the included back up software to be user friendly. I am using Windows backup utility instead. I am also using this drive to store music and other information to reduce the amount of data on my computers hard drive.
No problems so far, just plug and play. It is powered by the USB port.
simple, lightweight, and reliable [Posted on 2007-07-14] i bought this item mainly for storing music. i was a bit sceptical at first given the size, i was afraid it may become too hot after using it for hours on end; thankfully my worries were not justified. i can keep it hooked up to my computer and run programs all day and it stays cool to the touch. also i have just under 20,000 songs stored on my lacie as well as some of my other files and still have 1/3 of the drive space available. lightweight, easy to use - i am very happy with this product.
160GB Lacie Mobile Drive USB2.0 [Posted on 2007-08-03] This product looks and works great. Light weight, fast, silent, and sleek design. Does not heat up, powered by computer through USB 2.0, and comes ready to use. I have not tried the included software because I don't need it. I think it is superior in design to the Western Digital comparable drive, which I have, also. The similar Seagate model is heavier, larger, and the screws holding the case together tend to fall out. I am sold on the Lacie Mobile Drive and will surely buy another one to satisfy my growing need for video and audio file storage.
Sleek! [Posted on 2007-10-04] While we don't have any experience with any other external drive this brand was recommended by a British friend and we are very happy with it!
