Just what I needed [Posted on 2007-08-15]
I have a Dell Dimension 4700 that came with 512MB of RAM. The machine is about 2 years old and had started to slow due to the various apps that I installed.

Looking for the correct memory was a bit difficult at first, but I used the tool at Crucial.com that checks the machine and tells you exactly what you need to order. I check Amazon for the part number and placed the order and the memory was shipped within 2 days.

I had no probs installing it beside the 512MB (making a total of 2.5 GB) and it was immediately recognised by the machine and has improved the performance tremendously.
