Fine memory (albiet slow - consider buying the faster stuff directly from the vendor).

I learned that Windows XP will only "see" 3GB, so buying 4 isn't really nessisary. You do need to put in pairs of DIMMs so I'll let you figure out how to best make it to 3GB. You might consider buying just 2GB of faster RAM (I would have, had I known then what I know now).

The price offered here is excellent (25 bucks a gig).

I bought this memory for my Dell a couple of weeks ago and it worked perfectly, no problems or conflicts of any kind.

Now, one thing to know is that if you bought your Dell Dimension a couple of years ago, it may have come with 400mhz memory like mine did.

This pair of 1gig memory from Crucial is 533mhz. Either 400mhz or 533mhz memory will work on the system board. However, if you want your Dell to work at the faster speed, you'll have to take out the 400mhz and only use the 533mhz. If you add the 533mhz to the 400mhz memory, your computer will run at the 400mhz speed regardless of the amount of memory.

I highly recommend the memory from Crucial. It worked beautifully and you can't beat the price.
