I purchased this set on sale locally for 35 dollars. I used them to replace the tiny original speakers that came with my desktop and I'm very happy with the sound.

They're great at playing background music as you work - even if you like to crank up the volume a bit now and then. Lots of bass (fully adjustable) from the sub-woofer and good sound overall.

True, nobody is going to mistake the sound for an expensive audio system but hey, these speakers only cost 35 bucks!

Bottom line: If you want to fill the house with sounds for your next party then these are not the speakers for you. But if you want decent sound while you sit at your computer and don't want to spend lots of $$$$ then these are perfect.

Important note: The sub-woofer is clearly marked as UNSHIELDED - which means it puts out a magnetic field. Not a problem if you place it on the floor (where it belongs) but I wouldn't place it next to anything sensitive like the monitor or the computer tower.
