no problems [Posted on 2008-01-22] I just purchased the lexar and I have read the other reviews and I have no doubt that they have experienced the problems mentioned. I purchased this one because I have others and found them to be a good buy. I use the flash drives for my picture frame and downloading pictures from my computer is as fast as anyone could ask for. I have not experienced the problems others have mentioned and I would recomend this unit highly for the use I mentioned above.
The best I've had [Posted on 2008-02-19] I bought one of these when I found it on sale. Once I got it, I went back to buy two more because these are so freakin' cool! I use them in my car, and to take music to work. When I went back to buy more, the sale was off and they were over twice the price. That's okay though, if you look around you can find them under 30 bucks with shipping! I now have 3 of these, and not only are they the smallest, best-looking flash drives I've ever had, they are lightning fast. All 3 of them. You can't get a smaller, neater, cheaper (if you go looking) 4GB flash drive.
Went through a wash cycle twice... all data 100% intact [Posted on 2008-03-28] I don't know what other people are talking about, sounds more like problems with their USB ports than anything else, because this baby rocks. Throughput is very fast whether on USB 1.0 or 2.0. And TWICE I forgot I left them in my jeans and they got tossed into the laundry... only to discover them in the washing machine a day later after frantically searching for it. Popped it in to a USB port, everything was there, and it was fast as ever.
For this price, it's an incredible bargain. And clearly, it can take abuse!
Worst Flash Drive EVER! [Posted on 2008-09-01] Hello.
1 star is too much for this product. This product, the Lexar LEJDF4GB JumpDrive FireFly - 4GB Capacity, worked for about 3 weeks before it failed completely with about $3,000 worth of data loaded on it. I had just enough time to load it with data before offloading. I paid $27.50 for this product and as you read on you'll see it cost me alot more.
Of course, I contacted the LEXAR company about their product many times to get assistance with the problem. Their online chat service just walked me through useless steps to confirm that their product was defective. Only one time, did they answer my numorous emails, claiming that their "tool" to respond to customers was not working before. The LEXAR company's one time response suggested that I take their defective drive to a data recovery service ($300 minumum cost to me) and then after the data recovery (if possible) I should reformat their defective drive for reuse. Even with that "disfunctional tool" problem they had behind us, LEXAR has never responded again to my requests for assistance with their defective product.
I have purchased a data recovery program at 3X the cost of the LEXAR jumpdrive to rescue my data. Everyone agrees, I would be insane to take LEXAR's suggestion to reformat their defective drive so that I can relive this entire time-consuming and costly situation over again. The best and safest place for this product is to drop it in the closest trash can.
Thank you for letting me share my shopping experience with you and let you know how dissatisfied I am with the LEXAR company and it's worthless, time-consuming, and very expensive product. Did you notice that it has a 2-year limited warranty? LEXAR makes no attempt to honor that. Buyer Beware!
A Very Dissatisfied Customer,

Decent [Posted on 2008-09-29] I must have at least 20 thumb drives from home to the office. This one does what it needs to do for me. Although, I would still love to have more space. So Next I will purchase the 8 gigs and see if that has the space I need. I do recommend this product to anyone who needs a thumb drive that is tiny and easy to carry with quite a bit of space.
