Good drive for the price [Posted on 2008-10-05] Good drive for the price but little bit slower than my other drives (Cruzer and Kingston).
It Works! [Posted on 2008-10-07] Oh my god! This product totally does what it says it does. I am so impressed!!!
Great high capacity flash drive [Posted on 2008-10-08] I bought this drive mainly for the capacity, and having 16GB has been fantastic. It allows me to back up all important data and photos, which is not only a good idea for backup purposes, but enables my data to be completely transportable without taking a laptop.
The rubberized unit is attractive, water resistant, and apparently indestructible.
The data transfer seemed somewhat slow when I received the unit...noticeably slower than my 4GB Apacer drive.
But I reformatted the Corsair Flash Drive using Windows Vista, and it sped things up. On a 2GB test, it sped up the transfer rate by about 35%.
All in all, this is a good value.
Looks nice but is HORRIBLY SLOW [Posted on 2008-10-08] I just received the 32 GB flash drive. I was pleased with the overall design (though the cap seems rather loose).
I am currently trying to write 11 GB worth of data to it. I've been at it for 3 hours and it's still not done. Windows Vista gave me estimates that were all over the place - at one point, it said there was 1 day 2 hours left. Actually right now the progress bar is not quite halfway and the estimate is 14 hours left. I knew it wouldn't be lightning fast, but even at the lower end of estimates (4 MB/s writing speed), 11 GB should take no more than 45 minutes.
Bottom line: Buyer Beware! The drive may be huge in terms of storage and indestructible in design, but the slow write speed makes it (the 32 GB model at least) totally impractical. I feel terrible I plunked down $80 on this. I would rather have given it to charity than to have spent it on an electronic gizmo that turned out to be (in my opinion) worthless.
Best, most rugged Flash Drive IMHO [Posted on 2008-10-09] This is a stellar product. I rarely give 5 stars but this line of drives is amazing. I have both the 16 and now the 32 and am eyeing the new 64 also. The rugged housing is great for drops. I use it on OSX and its never given ,e any problems. It comes with a nice laniard to keep it around your neck or such also. Only item I would add is I wish the cap were attached somehow. I am always afraid I'll lose the tiny little cap but I never have of course. Great drive.
