Fast and Easy [Posted on 2008-04-07] I got this for my Elite K7SEM mobo because I wanted 2.0 USB ports but didn't want to go through the whole grab-bage of getting a new mobo. I found this here at Amazon and got the same chip shown in the picture. It came brand new and was so easy to install. I plugged it, turned my PC on and XP did the rest. Now I'm using peripherals and transfering files in real speed!
works great after patch upgrade [Posted on 2008-06-01] I almost gave up trying to get this to work then I found a patch from microsoft that I needed to install. After that it worked fine.
HDE Cards has best customer care [Posted on 2008-06-09] HDE gave us a customer service that is rare now days; the support guy called in to make sure the product worked okay, and followed through with e-mails.
Amazon is doing a good job of getting responsible vendors online....
Ever since this experience we check with Amazon first before we buy from Dell or others...

Awesome deal! [Posted on 2008-07-12] A great product if you are looking to upgrade to USB 2.0, or if you need more USB ports! This PCI card was extremely easy to install. It comes with a CD containing drivers. No problems at all. It's been working great for 4 months now!
Yes, it is cheap! [Posted on 2008-07-31] I purchased two of these cards, having one as a spare, since they were so inexpensive, but cheap would be a better term.
My order was received promptly. It was well secured in an easy to open blister pack and included a mini CD containing the drivers. Installation on my ancient Gateway Pentium II running Windows 98SE was simple and straightforward.
I purchased it for my only USB component, a LaCie Rugged external hard drive. I was able to partition and format the drive and test copy a few files. After that, every time I plugged in the drive I lost all functionality, except the ability to move the mouse cursor around. Unplugging the drive returned everything to normal. This occured with both cards.
I went to Best Buy and bought a Dynex 2-port USB 2.0 PCI card. Coincididentially, it uses the same chipset. I swapped out the cards, and using the drivers all ready loaded, the Dynex card worked fine; I gave up on the 4 + 1.
I note some reviewers are having great success with this card. Good for them. Others, like myself, are now using it as a paperweight.
Caveat emptor!
