Ultra 6 Port Pci USB 2.0 Card [Posted on 2007-05-05] Installation was quick and easy! Windows XP detected the new hardware and installed the drivers for it.
It works with every USB 2.0 device I have, EXCEPT my new Fuji Finepix S6000fd camera and my new Olympus MAUSB200 memory card reader using XD type M memory. The camera with it's large picture files was the sole reason for this USB card purchase.
To be completely fair, I must add that I read in the camera's owners manual later that they (Fuji) only guarantees the Camera's USB connection to work with a factory installed USB port. The camera and card reader work fine on the factory installed USB 1 ports on 2 different computers.
If you plan on using this card with a Fuji S6000fd camera, buy something else. This card won't work with it! I even installed the Ultra driver and it still won't work with the camera or the card reader.
Other than this the Ultra 6 Port Pci USB 2.0 card works fine with all other USB items I've attached to it.
Easy to install and works well in Vista [Posted on 2008-02-27] I installed this card and it was recognized immediately. It works well. My only comment is that it would be more practical if the ports were set vertically instead so as to fit one or two more USB ports.
The CD that came with it is not needed in Vista and probably in XP either.
Good product for the price and it arrived on time.
Works great! [Posted on 2008-04-11] Installed in an alienware system with an Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe motherboard, no problems! Works great!
What can you expect for $15 [Posted on 2008-06-05] Installed this in a Dell Vostro, Core2 Duo 2.3ghz, 3gb RAM, Windows XP Home.
The card was recognized with no problems but it works inconsistently.
My iPhone and my iPod drop connection frequently.
Neither my external Seagate 500gb drive nor my Sandisk card reader connects at USB 2.0 speed.
A microsoft optical mouse will not work at all.
The keyboard is fine, along with a cheap USB 802.11g adapter and a Canon MP470 printer.
Overall, I have enough items that work and don't require 2.0 speed so I am ok, but I wouldn't purchase this item again.
