This rocks [Posted on 2008-08-14] My frame rates doubled after installing the BE. Microsoft FSX runs much better now no lag during game play. Microsoft FS9 frame rate is nearly 50 fps on maxed settings. Right out of the box its 2.8 GHz.I will attempt to overclock at some point. I paired this with a Thermaltake cooler its so silent, and cool. You cant miss with this upgrade for a AMD AM2 socket and the price is right to.
Excelente [Posted on 2008-08-24] Simplemente AMD...
Este procesador es Excelente en cuanto a Rendimineto x Precio, su temperatura es bastante estable, se puede ocear sin ningun problema.
tiene 5.2 de calificación en WinVista. Lo cual lo pone sobre la media.

You can buy this if:
1. You are an AMD fan and want only an AMD processor
2. You are specifically building an AMD system or that you are upgrading a older AMD system
3. Looking for the overclocking feature at a lower price point
Otherwise, the current crop of Intel processors (core 2 duo or quad core) outdo in terms of performance as well as power usage. In the 4th page of the review in Tom's hardware - there is a comparison of power usage that shows Intel cpus showing similar performance at 45 watts or so, compared to this CPU's 67 watts.
Also other points to note:
1. While this CPU is quite cheaper at < [...]$, you need to spend an additional [...]$ for a good CPU FAN!
2. In addition to this, depending on the mother board, you may have to buy additional video cards (if you are a gamer, this doesn't apply to you - you are anyway going for the top of the line video card out there!)
Finally, you need to consider the entire system cost and performance together with motherboard + cpu + memory + video as a whole and take your pick.
I bought a MSI K9A2 CF-F V2 for this processor (building a system for a good performance system for computing). ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000YEMKNW ). While it is a great motherboard ( I wanted those extra PCIE slots!) it lacks built-in video support and so my total cost went up. I am still happy with it, because at the end of the day, I have a good system anyway.
3.0ghz overclocked with no special cooling systems [Posted on 2008-08-31] You can over clock this by setting the multiplier to 15X and the voltage to 1.375 volts and get a very stable computer with only a 15 dollar fan :)
The results: 3.0ghz
With a special cooling system I can see upwards of 3.2-3.3ghz
Overall: Get this! Now! :)
Black box overpriced [Posted on 2008-09-12] Black box, no heatsink or fan. Can get complete with heatsink and fan from N***** for less than $70!
