Great Little PC [Posted on 2008-07-28] This little laptop is essentially as-promised: small, functionable, easy to use. I purchased it with college note-taking and on-the-go access in mind, and it has certainly delivered. Although slightly heavier than I originally thought (the 2 lbs. weight being a bit of an estimate), it fits perfectly in my small bag and is far more convenient than lugging around a bunch of spiral notebooks.
I am sure that many adults will find the keyboard somewhat difficult to use because of its miniature size, but my small fingers have no trouble finding the right keys. Indeed, I prefer the touch on this little guy to that of a typical desktop computer.
I have had no issues with regular tasks -- IMing, SKYPEing, internet, file transfer, sound, screen res, etc. I've yet to have an opportunity to watch any video longer than a few minutes, but I foresee no problems. Also, battery life is quite good; a combination of word processing and internet research yielded approximately 2 hrs of battery use, which brought power down to %40.
For its price, portability, and ease of use, this computer wins high marks. It's an excellent addition to my arsenal of desktop and regular laptop, and I highly reccommend it.
Sidenote: I did insert an 8G SDHC card to boost memory, a $25 fix to a very minor drawback.
I have the 2GB WORKS LIKE A CHARM [Posted on 2008-07-30] Perfect when travelling light weight and easy to use. Great for retrieving your e mails and not lugging around a full size lap top.
Great little computer [Posted on 2008-08-03] The main reason I like the laptop is because of how compact it is. It's great for travel and I'm even able to put it inside my purse. Although it heats up very quickly and the battery doesn't last that long, I still like it and consider it a great computer.
Works as advertised [Posted on 2008-08-12] Have had this PC for several weeks now and am very satisfied with its performance. I chose the Windows XP version and it works well. To save drive space I removed Microsoft Works since I will only be using this machine for E-mail and internet. Did a little research and decided to add the Avast anti-virus package which also seems to be working OK. Added 2GB ram which installed very easily. On a recent trip to Las Vegas the PC easily connected to WiFi with no problems, both at the airport and hotel. Also used it as a MP3 player by downloading my music from home PC to a USB flash drive which fits nicely on the side USB port. The sound was excellent. Unlike some other reports, I did not notice the unit getting excessively hot. I did find the touchpad to be very sensitive so much so that I will switch to a USB mouse for greater control. Overall, very happy with this little PC.
Great little computer [Posted on 2008-08-14] A "real" computer that's truly portable. Now when I see someone pull out their regular laptop, I think, "Why would you carry around something like that when you could get one of these?" I just throw it in my backpack and off I go. Highly recommended.
