This game is sheer (HACK'N SLASH) nervana.Though some have compaired it to the classic's such as"Baldur's Gate","Icewind Dale" and "Diablo", N.W.N is truly in a class of it's own. Unlike the others,you really don't have to have a (Bachelor's Degree in 'Dungeon's and Dragon's')in order to enjoy the game. Yes it does use the D&D 3rd Edition ruleset, but the creator's of this series made this game so user friendly and so excessible to new commers of the 'Forgotten Realm's' Universe that even your grandparents could pop it in and play with very little effort and a little reading of the player's manual. The storyline is TOP-NOTCH, THE MUSIC (although repetitive in some areas) is done rather well. At first glance, this title is advertised as an 'MMORPG',which quite frankly i almost turned away from for that reason alone-("I DON'T PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS AND FROM THE HORROR STORIES I'VE HEARD ABOUT ONLINE ADOLESCENT BEHAVIOR, NO THANK'S,I'LL PASS!! I'm an adult gamer/animator/programmer of age 43 and I've got no patience nor would i waste my money to listen to immature gamers 4 lettering each other)which is another reason why i commend the creators for making an excellent OFFLINE/SOLO campiegn for those of us who enjoy PVC. Extend your gameplay by saving your character and explore the lands of NEVERWINTER with the included expansion pack-"Shadow's of Undrentide".That's almost like getting 2 games in 1 for a really LOW price. AWESOME!!Just make sure ( if you purchase it used) that your'e getting a copy with the ACTIVATION CODES,without these codes-which in this version is on the inside of the 1st page in the players manual, you will NOT be able to install the game unless you go to BIOWARE'S SITE and email them for them.Seriously,without the code you're screwed.If you enjoyed "Dungeon Siege" and games of that sort,then you'll love "Neverwinter Night's" which in my opinion was a step up from Dungeon Siege. Do yourself a favor and also purchase the 2nd Expansion-"Hordes of the Underdark" it's cheap,it's better than 'Shadows' in so many ways and there are plenty of copies of it on Amazon.
