Customer Reviews:

Great TV tuner\Graphics card combination. [Posted on 2007-03-09]
The ATI graphics work.
I got the TV Tuner to work.
However, I am still having
with getting the composite
signal from my VCR to work.
ATI should provide an easier
way to connect this graphics
card to the VCR or DVD player.

Sounds like a few of the reviewers need a real computer [Posted on 2007-05-09]
Sounds like a few of you need to get a real computer to put this video card. I have this card installed in my Media Center and has been since November 2005, it has played and recorded TV shows everyday since then. I have my Media Center PC hooked directly into my 32" LCD TV that has a VGA input, the quality of the TV signal is typical analog just as if the cable was plugged into the back of a cable ready tube TV, I have never experienced any skipping or jerking in the signal. As far as power consumption goes for the one user, it sounds like you need a better quality power supply too. Im able to run several external devices of my MCE, one device being an external 2.5" hard drive that gets its power from the USB port.

Dont listen to these idiots that give this card a bad review, its not the card that sucks!!!

reliable all-around [Posted on 2007-06-11]
I've owned this for over a year now, and I'm completely satisfied. The drivers/tv software come in 1 CD and it takes a while to install, but it is automated, so you don't install a million things yourself. I play BF2142 up to medium settings, schedule TV recordings of all the tennis i've been missing, use Studio 9(included), take out commercials and burn DVD. It has been the golden middle for me, plays games like BF / TV and does not cost a fortune.

Flaky and deteriorating performance, terrible support [Posted on 2007-07-22]
I bought this card a year or so ago and at first it was tolerable -- occasional lockups that required powering the computer on and off, bad sound occasionally, generally slightly buggy software. It was after I decided to upgrade to the latest software that it really fell apart. First, deleting your old software requires you to uninstall at least five programs with add/remove programs, kill a running program with the process manager, search the registry for entries and remove them if they're there, then delete files from several folders by hand. The install, if you do the remote and the TV Guide, requires you to run seven separate installations with four reboots along the way (with the original CD involved).
So, after doing this, nothing worked at all. I did it all again, and again, finally it partially worked but the integration of the recording software and the TV Guide didn't work at all. The picture was mediocre at best. Finally, after a useless series of emails with ATI, downloading their system inspection software and sending the snapshot back to them, and then still hearing nothing, I reinstalled everything back from the original CD. I was then back more or less where I had been, but the problems were getting more frequent.
It's newest trick is for the sound to become all static. It'll be ok for a while, then become static, then work again, but eventually become nothing but static. A reboot fixes it briefly. The times the sound is correct are getting briefer and briefer -- less than a minute now. I filed a customer support request a week ago, noting someone had filed a request for a very similar problem in February or March. I have heard nothing. I tried installing the latest drivers again (I enjoy hitting my head on the table too), but it made no difference.
So the bottom line is -- the card seems nice, having the tuner and video functionality on the same card. But the picture is mediocre, the software flaky, the hardware causes lockups and static, and the support abysmal. Other than that, it's been great.

A smooth wonder [Posted on 2008-03-16]
I was looking for an AGP good card and I got this as a present, i thought it didnt have a fan, maybe its not that good, but since I had it, I havent had any problems with it, I even added the TV Guide recently at home, i was able to play my Wii and PS3 on the computer through this beauty, so it is a very good AGP Card, one of the best cards.
