It's like having your own intercom system! [Posted on 2006-12-19] These phones work great for us! We have 6 addtl phones besides the base. You can plug them anywhere you have an electrical outlet, you only need the main base plugged into the phone outlet, the rest go anywhere... basement, garage, any room you want. My biggest complaint about these phones would be that you would think that a phone that initially "searches for the base unit" upon setup would also read the phone numbers programmed into the base. You have to program each phone individually. That can be annoying! But the quality and clarity of the phones are great. They work great to intercom globally or individually if you're looking for a particular family member... also you can transfer a call from one handset to the other and hang up the first handset!! That's an awesome feature... the 2nd handset remains ringing until you can get to it.
Excellent phone [Posted on 2007-01-23] I have the base model with 2 expandable phones. Bought this third expandable addition from Amazon recently and have no complaints. Love this phone system and able to plug them in any wall socket in the house without the need for a phone jack. Has all basic features that I need like redial, call waiting, call conference, speaker phone etc.
Works better than the 5.8 systems [Posted on 2007-05-16] Finally I've found an expandible system for up to 8 that actually works!!
The first 2 systems I tried were the Panasonic and Uniden 5.8 systems and luckily I tried them at my old house first--both were terrible--they had static as soon as you walked outside--even right outside the window where the base station sits!! And form there it was all downhill. My current older AT&T 2.4 set NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM so I tried a 2.4 system--PROBLEM SOLVED
Work great, easy setup [Posted on 2008-04-25] Purchased this to expand our set and to replace one where the ear piece speaker stopped working. They set up very easily and work great.
Its is a very good product BUT [Posted on 2008-05-26] Its is a very good product BUT I beleve it cost too much "for" a add on phone
