Good on value, short on advertised size Came from Dell 30" [Posted on 2007-03-09] To sum this monitor up its a glorified stretched 24" with none of the features. It measures 25.4" not 26" and they gain the extra by larger pixel size. You get exactly what you pay for here.
Pros:
-Value for money, Not much more money than a 24", DVI and VGA inputs
-1920 Resolution works fine with unit from Amazon (Jan 07 Manf. date)
-5ms refresh good gaming and video playback (Feels higher than 5 to me)
-good contrast and brightness
Cons:
-Back side of screen looks scratched or swiped clean from dirty *BAD*
-Advertised as a 26" try under 25.4 Industry standard is actual viewable area so Acer has a problem here. LCD sizes have been honest *VERY BAD*
-Silver bezel is VERY thick and would be much better in black being 1"+
-Base while STABLE offers no height or side to side pivot, its VERY poor
-No additional features such as USB ports or card readers
Wow - who says size doesn't matter [Posted on 2008-01-24] We just received the monitor and it is great - it's huge. This is an upgrade from and old style 19" LCD - it is like night and day. It is installed on a Mac Mini and the total install time was less than 5 minutes with no surprises.
The picture is perfect and there look to be no dead pixels but the are so many it is hard to say if they are all working - it look like they are.
For my money the trade off between a larger display and a smaller one with more features is easy - buy the larger display. When you have worked with a big screen it is hard to imagine going back to a smaller display.
