Great Product for Perfomance, Weigh the only Complaint [Posted on 2007-11-11] This computer was bought specifically for work about 6 months ago. I publish a magazine and the large screen size is perfect for viewing photos on location. The colors are so vibrant with the new vista. The computer is very fast. I often run many programs at once. I use the computer everyday for word processing, email, and photo editing often at the same time. The only things I don't like is that its so heavy and I can;t find a carrying case. Twenty pounds is very heavy, not for carrying around on a daily basis. The 20" screen means it also doesn't fit in to any laptop carrying cases that I have found, nor does it fit into the security bins at the airport. If your looking for top performance and desktop like setup this is a great choice. I would not recommend it for frequent travelers.
Great Machine but read on... [Posted on 2008-04-16] My company bought me this computer. I have had it for 8 months and it works great. Very fast, never crashes, all the toys built in.
However, it's expensive. It's heavy as hell. It's impossible to find a laptop carrying case that will fit this monster. I ended up having to buy a huge plastic suitcase meant for carrying camera lenses to bring it around jobsites to protect it from the elements. If you are rich or your company is buying I recommend it. But keep in mind that it's basically a desktop that's easy to move from room to room.
I love Acer, but...... [Posted on 2008-07-12] I love Acer as it is very reliable. But the sheer size is a big problem. I often wonder why the designer are so stupid and so out-of-touch with the real world. I travel a lot and am looking for notebook computer with good functionality and really portable. But unfortunately, apart from Apple Air, nothing is really good. Most of the notebooks are huge and the designers must have been thinking people would love to carry an elephant with 17 inch or even 20 inch screen? Have they really gone mad? When people travel, they don't care large screen!!! Okay?! Make your thing smaller like Apple Air, or people will not bother to buy your stuff!
