Fantastic Product [Posted on 2004-11-09] As with all Adaptec products I have used, this one worked right out of the box with no problems. Microsoft must have fixed the problem in Windows XP Pro, because I installed this card without any problem in a system running Windows XP Pro (SP2). You can't go wrong with this card and it's worth the slightly higher price to eliminate installation and support problems!
Poor Support [Posted on 2005-02-27] I got an error trying to install this card. I do this for a living so I ought to be able to install a simple PCI card. But not this time. I spent the extra money on the name-brand card because I read about the Adaptec Support from other reviewers. Well first, their website was useless. The suggestions they had were'nt even close. Then I decided to talk to a live person - but wait! You need a credit card and have to pay $10 for phone support. So I e-mailed a detailed description of the problem to them. After 48 hours, no reply. I found a MS KB article that told me exactly how to fix the problem.
Great Product [Posted on 2005-08-12] Great product for adding USB 2.0 ports to older computer. Especially helpful with new scanners which require faster connections. Adaptec is "recommended" for Canon scanners.
Simply works [Posted on 2005-10-23] Open the box, open the computer. Put the card in. Close the computer, start it up. Presto! USB 2.0 now available! (Computer is a Mac with two 1GHz G4 processors running OSX 10.4.2)
So Simple and Works Great [Posted on 2006-03-21] I am not computer literate. After reading the reviews I purchased the product. It worked exactly as described - plug and play. I can now use my Memorex DVD dual recorder which I received for Christmas. Computer purchased in 2000 and is a Dell Dimension w/ os XP.
