Although I had some problems getting my old Orinoco 802.11b GOLD and SILVER cards to work, that wasn't the reason I bought this item.
I mainly needed something that could accept CARDBUS cards which actually contain a special slotting so regular DESKTOP PCMCIA readers cannot phisically read these cards properly. Most modern PCMCIA cards are cardbus today.

Excelent product just plug and play [Posted on 2006-03-20]
I try this card on my desktop with Windows XP, and it runs inmediatly, no drivers, no installation issues in this operating system.
The first time is a little dificult to insert the PCMCIA card. The cards need to insert with the front of the card looking down, maybe this is my motherboard and computer case combination.
I used this with an Kyocera P650 Wireless card and its work fine.
