Customer Reviews:

A great product for those who love maps! [Posted on 2000-04-05]
The best thing about the atlas are the maps themselves. Seeing the individual buildings in a city instead of a black block gives the maps that extra little something. The links between the maps are great too, clicking from one to the other, learning which floorplan goes to which city and where in the city is wonderful. And the Overland maps are beautiful. Really gives you a feel for what the Forgotten Realms are like. Overall, an excellent product which any gamer should find useful.

Highly recommended [Posted on 2000-04-05]
Ever buy some old Forgotten Realms products and find out laterthat the map is missing? I know I have, but now I don't worry becauseI can just go to the atlas and print out the missing map.

I have all of the Forgotten Realms material ever published and I can safely say this is the most complete collection of maps you will find. If you have found some maps are missing, chances are good you probably neglected the free map downloads available.

The crew at Pro-Fantasy couldn't be more helpful. If you ever have problems you don't have to worry about poor support. They are fantastic. END

FR Interactive Atlas: Can't get more for your money. [Posted on 2000-04-05]
The Forgotten Realms: Interactive Atlas is one of the most comprehensive FR products to date. I have been using it for several months now so it is about time to write a review. This product is THE map source for the FR fan, DM or player. The atlas is easy to use and we finally get to see the entire globe (yes, the whole world is mapped). The new regions have been left blank as of this review, but even so basic terrain is shown and there is even a rotating globe that you can use to navigate the atlas. The maps are colorful, easy to use, print, save etc.

The maps use a "hyperlink" system so invariably there is going to be a division right in one of your favorite areas but you can get around this most of the time by zooming out to the next level map. There are several updates available on the web that will add several hundred more maps to this beautiful product. It is the gift that keeps on giving. If you are a fan of the Realms, this is a must buy product.

Excellent Product! Well worth the cost! [Posted on 2000-04-06]
The atlas, especially with the two updates available for download makes for a tremendous amount of information for the DM and player alike. Plan a campaign from Waterdeep to Westgate, with miles along the trail, or bring up maps of Kara Tur, Maztica, Chult, Zakhara -- anywhere in the Realms. It even contains floorplans of many buildings, inns and dungeons. Zoom in or out as needed, import the files into CC2 for making your own changes, or as many DM's do, capture the image and add your adventure items with your favorite graphics program.

I run a PBeM with 20 players and the FR Atlas makes keeping track of the various player groups and providing them with information on their adventuring area a breeze. Combined with CC2 and the CR2 software & Expansion I can provide my players with all the maps, diagrams and information they'll need.

The two updates contain a wealth of new maps and corrections. Most areas where there had been tiling problems cutting areas in two have been corrected so you can ignore the one reviewers earlier comments on this part.

All in all the FR Atlas is a wonderful program and of all the game software I use for D&D the FR Atlas icon gets the most use. The support from the Pro-fantasy staff when I've had questions has been unreal - fast responses and with more information and hints than my questions asked in the first place!

Kudos to ProFantasy for their work on this product!

An excellent accessory to Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting [Posted on 2000-04-30]
This review is mostly aimed at new DMs or those not familiar with Forgotten Realms. After having been "out" of AD&D for about 5-7 years, my kids rekindled my interest. Since there appeared to be a wealth of information on Forgotten Realms, I purchased this CD-ROM.

The only "caveat" to any potential "emptors" out there is the Interactive Atlas has only the MAPS of the Forgotten Realms. You will still need to have the Campaign Setting available if you wish to understand the background information.

That being said, it is well worth the money to get both. The Campaign Setting does not have all the beautifully detailed color maps available in the Interactive Atlas, but it does have the stories which make these maps and your campaigns come alive.
