Love my dual 23" monitors! [Posted on 2008-02-11] Hi,
I just bought two of these monitors and they are absolutely beautiful. I love how clear they are. I thought my old displays were clear but these are amazing. Thank you again Apple for making a top quality product. Are ascetically pleasing AND they have the best picture I have ever seen.
Thanks!
Love it [Posted on 2008-02-25] I researched this monitor extensively before buying it, considered the positives and many negative--for the early incarnation of this monitor--reviews, and decided to buy it. I've only had it for a few weeks, but I am absolutely thrilled so far: no stuck or dead pixels, vibrant and accurate color (I do a lot of Photoshop), consistent color across the screen, beautiful to look at... I would definitely recommend this monitor.
So nice you forget it's there [Posted on 2008-05-12] What's not to love? This monitor has a great picture, beautiful design, outstanding build quality. I wouldn't have anything else. From a practical standpoint I could probably get by with the 20-inch version, or even a Samsung or Viewsonic display. I got this one because I was already used to working with a 21-inch CRT and wanted something with a slightly larger screen that took up less space. If you have the budget for it, buy it.
Great 23" Display [Posted on 2008-05-24] I read endless reviews before deciding on which display to pair with my new Mac Pro. I looked at monitors from Dell, NEC, Ezio and Samsung. I even visited a few stores for that "see it for you self" experience. For color critical work Ezio and NEC have some amazing products, but expensive. Dell and Samsung have some great value monitors but not great for creative design work. The Apple Cinema 23 fell somewhere in between in terms of color accuracy and price.
The choice was clear for me and I have no regrets. It even looks better at home on my desk than it did at the Apple Store.
Apple 23" Cinema Display - WOW! [Posted on 2008-06-17] I originally bought this for my PC-based NLE workstation. It's not 100% PC compatible, as my system refused to boot with only this display connected to an ATI 3850 video card. It would boot OK with 2 displays connected, so I used it for a few weeks. A utility called "WinACD" helps enormously when using it with a Windows PC.
The monitor is well made with a solid aluminum frame and stand. It's got great details like a single cable connecting the monitor to a breakout box at the computer end, Firewire 400 and USB ports and unobtrusive touch switches for power and brightness. The power indicator thoughtfully goes dark during use to reduce distraction.
It so impressed me, I bought a Mac Pro to go with it!
I seem to have gotten one of the perfect ones with even backlighting and color and no dead or stuck pixels.
Details are sharp and clear and video plays well with no noticeable ghosting or jaggies. Fine details can be seen that aren't noticeable on other nearly as expensive monitors.
It's by far the best monitor of any kind that I've seen yet.
Have Fun,
Keri
