Product works great. Only problem with it is that the only movies available are old Lisa Kudrow flicks.
Well, not really, but a "dated" inventory is the dominant impression of what is available. Selection is not only biased towards movies in the $5 bin at Walmart, there are not very many movies to be had. Try to rent movies with this and you'll be in danger of renting something you've already purchased a DVD of.
Product is a technical success. The .Mac and Flicker integration is great. Biggest surprise of this purchase is how much fun the family has "showing off" using YouTube. Very enjoyable. I'm finding musicians with Youtube videos and then buying their albums on eMusic.
If Apple ever gets their act toether with this product, it will be awesome. My picky anti-Mac friends are watching and saying "I'm going to get one."
Should you buy the 160 gig model or this one? I think what I'm going to do is install SSH and SAMBA on mine, but it looks to be a 3 hour project to do so. If your billable rate is above $30 an hour, you probably should buy the best and only cry once.

Like most of their stuff, this Apple product does everything right. I anticipate that rentals will get better and I'll never look back to the days of actually having to go somewhere to rent a movie. Can you even imagine that?

AppleTV has allowed me to cancel my satellite/cable TV. I have the ability to buy my favorite TV shows and rent or buy movies right from my Television set. I have an off-air antenna to receive all the major networks in HD for free. I'm saving a ton of money and I control what I want to pay for, it's a beautiful thing. AppleTV also allows you to buy and play music/music videos right from your TV. You have access to YouTube videos and podcasts. It works great! I would recommend you spend a $100 more for the 160GB version. 40GB disappears fast when it comes to video.

This is a great device to get all the content from your PC on to your machine. The movie rental part is great, but Apple needs to work on getting more content. Over all I love this device.

I'm very happy with this purchase. I bought all the season I miss on the TV. And it's really great to watch it on TV instead than the computer.
One things : I really hope it'll have more movies to rent on iTunes because right now it's not enough.
