This is the real deal!! [Posted on 2007-12-06] I purchased this iMac MA759LL/A from Amazon at the end of October. I wish I had waited to get it for $200 less but I'm thrilled with the machine! I wanted the white one since I had read some negative comments about the new aluminum model. For those who are confused, this comes with everything. The entire machine is housed in the monitor and it even comes with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. I've have always used a PC but after enduring three crashes within the last year and a half I decided it was time to try a Mac, especially since you can now run Windows on the machine. I'm still working my way through all the differences, but I LOVE this machine. If you're looking for a great price on an iMac don't hesitate to get this one!!
Once you go Mac, you'll never go back!! [Posted on 2007-12-31] I already had a 17 inch IMac and I got this 20 inch IMac because we use computers so much and I wanted one upstairs and the other downstairs. I absolutely LOVE this!!!! Macs are so wonderful and they are so much less stressful to deal with than all the issues that come along with a PC. It's amazing what you can do with photos, movies, Itunes, etc. Macs are just better...it's as simple as that. Watch the commercials, they are bottom line machines for bottom line people and dream machines for anyone dealing with graphics, art, music, etc. I use mine to run my real estate business and for home use. SO GREAT!!!!!!! I think my IMac is just about as portable as a laptop since there is no tower. You just shut it down and unplug and carry it where you need it. I love the wireless keyboard, but, I'm still deciding how much I like a wireless mouse. It's a nice look, but, can be a bit of a pain.
My opinion is still pending [Posted on 2008-01-14] Amazon has invited me to review this product although I have returned it because it arrived DOA.
I know the Imac's are awesome. Right now I'm a little concerned about Amazon. They seem to be a little pokey on the return process.
we'll see.
very user friendly and fun [Posted on 2008-01-14] The iMac is a great computer. It runs quickly, and has many applications preloaded onto it. The webcam works great and the mouses extra buttons help me when I'm using the computer. Two of the applications I used so far, GarageBand and iMovie, both have a high level of simplicity, but at the same time have many options. The internal speakers work well, and the keyboard is very comfortable. The only thing that I find less then perfect is the mouse- it doesn't feel like it moves as smoothly as others, such as my previous windows computer. All in all its a great buy and a great OS to learn and use.
White iMac, 20" [Posted on 2008-01-18] Based on seeing a friends White 20" iMac, I purchased the new 20" Aluminum, via the on-line Apple store. I assumed the LCD quality of the new version machine would be at least the same, if not better, than the earlier White model. Boy was I wrong!! The new LCD is a cheap TN panel with the worst color shift and narrow viewing angle one could imagine. That, coupled with the super reflective (mirror like) design of the Aluminum, led me to immediately return the new iMac.
Still wanting to upgrade my old G4 Tower, I searched the web to see if I could find a NEW 20" White iMac. Fortunately, I found a brand new unit on Amazon.com.... And, at a very good price.
I upgraded the OS to the new 10.5 "Leopard", and I couldn't be happier! I now have the best of both worlds: A beautiful LCD (SIPS wide viewing angle w/virtually no color shift) and the new features offered in Leopard.
If you're looking to buy a 20" iMac, and want a good LCD, see if Amazon still has any new Whites!!
Thanks, Amazon for this great purchase!!
