Amazing! [Posted on 2008-07-24] I bought this iPod back in January to replace a dying 1st Generation Nano. The two are nothing alike. The Touch destroys any other iPod in comparison, and is certainly worth the money. As long as you have WiFi access, this is a must have for people who enjoy convenience. I love the simplicity of the Safari Browser and Youtube apps. The videos I downloaded, and the ones on Youtube look amazing on a nice wide display, and I love the newly amplified sound of music. If you're easily amused (God knows I am) you'll be excited every time you touch the screen and make something happen. I haven't tested the iTunes app on it, because I get my music elsewhere, but I assume it works great. Anyone can use this device. When you buy it, just plug it in, find your Router password, and you're good to go! The iTouch is an amazing device!
fab-o [Posted on 2008-07-24] i've had this product before so after i lost it i knew it wanted one. the refurb is as good as a new one. (:
No Software Upgrade - Amazon's fault not Apple's [Posted on 2008-07-25] I purchased this item mid June after Apple announced the new software release (2.0) but before it shipped because the item included "software upgrade". Nothing arrived with the item about the "software upgrade" and Apple is charging $10 for the upgrade. When I sent a question about it to Amazon they responded (days later) that I should talk to Apple. Though I felt this was bad advice, I did so and Apple (who actually does answer their phone with someone working in the US instead of someone sending emails from India) said, Amazon should provide the upgrade. It's only $10 but it was clearly FALSE ADVERTISING on Amazon's part to say "with Software Upgrade". If you're buying it now it ships with the new software (hopefully) so you're probably OK and this is clearly an Amazon problem, the product itself works great.
Like it [Posted on 2008-07-26] Got an iPod touch 2 weeks ago and I like it. I have my pictures on it, got it setup for email, and some videos on it.
The version 2.0 of the software is nice. I also enjoy the App Store. I'm looking forward to future updates of the iPod Touch operating system. I want to see a copy/paste feature.
Does NOT include latest software update (2.0) [Posted on 2008-07-26] I just plugged in my new ipod touch and am disappointed that even though Amazon advertises it as "with software upgrade" that does NOT mean it has the latest software. I imagine there is some 'lag' time between Apple coming out with 2.0 and Amazon selling their stock of 1.1.4 version enhanced ipods. Still, I wasn't expecting to have to pay $10 to download 2.0 from Apple. I wish Amazon would've listed the operating system version number. I can't wait to start playing with my new 'toy' as soon as I get done with downloading....
