Arcade Hits 1 [Posted on 2003-05-18] When I first played the games on this CD-ROM, I thought I had travelled through a time warp back into the arcades of the early 80's! It's great to be able to play your favorite arcade games that you once played years ago (I think I'm telling my age!). I got lots of enjoyment out of it.
Atari Arcade Hits 1 [Posted on 2003-06-12] Progam may work well using keyboard, but I prefer to use the joystick, and game plays very choppy.
Atari Arcade Hits Vol.1 [Posted on 2003-09-11] Well this game is really good. I'm getting it soon and my friend has it. Sound Quality - 4 This game doesn't really have sound but the way the beeps sound it feels like you're in a 90's arcade. Graphics - 4.5 The graphics are actually really good for arcade games. ( -.5 for centipede) Fun - 5.5 Well, 5.5 is all you have to say. Challenging - 4 These games are highly challenging. NOTE: I got all the way to Level 10 on Centipede. Pros: Still Fun To Play Suprisingly Good Graphics Cons: Using The Keyboard Peforms Choppy Gameplay Not Enough Games On CD GO BUY IT TODAY! I hope this helped.
A fun way to pass the time. [Posted on 2004-12-15] I got this as a b-day/Christmas gift. I usually play for less than a hour at a time, but oh, what fun! There are only 6 games here--Asteroids, Centipede, Pong, Missile Command, Super Breakout, and Tempest--and they play in both retro and enhanced versions. And once installed, you don't need the CD to play it, because it stays on your hard drive! I just wish it had more games!
AN OBSERVATION OF NOTE: In Asteroids and Centipede, sometimes when the UFO's or Spider appear, the sound suddenly gets twice as loud, and doesn't stop until either you shoot the thing or it fades of screen. If I vaguely remember right (It's been what, uh, 20-25 years?!!), I think this unintentional error was in the original stand-up arcade machines themselves, and yet it's "captured" here on this CD! (Again, I assume unintentional.) Don't let this "effect" throw you off. You may want to turn down the volume when playing these two games, especially if you're sensitive to such changes in sound. Have fun!
Jewel Case [Posted on 2007-01-16] The games are hard to play on the computer. They are not what I remember them to be when Atari was out. If I had known how hard they were to play, I would not have bought them.
