Jamie, this products abilities are addressed in the product description and I can only base my review on my experience with the final out come, which was success in raising capital. I will not address the creditability issue as you do not know me, if you did you would know my word means everything to me and I do not simply endorse products unless they exceed my expectations.

When I purchased Automate Your Business Plan I had never written a business plan and all the books I had read were confusing. We had been in business for a few years and were successful, but we had gotten to the point where we wanted to acquire investors.

Since investors don't want to invest without knowing your business plan, we needed a good plan. The instructions provided aided in the development of a suitable business plan which we are using to acquire investors.

I would recommend this software to anyone who has never written a business plan and even to those that have a business plan and need to update it.

For business planning software, Automate Your Business Plan is an excellent choice, using a step by step approach to help analyze your business before the planning process begins. The accompanying book has each step sectioned and explained for a thorough approach to business planning. I enjoyed learning the program while producing the plan and with great customer support, questions were easily handled. A must for the SMBE business planner. Thanks MS Pinson & Ndaba, you've done a great service to entrepreneurship.

Good, but the author forgot one important/critical thing [Posted on 2006-12-05]
In terms of defining all components of a business plan, this book is excellent. However, the book does not clearly define what order one should create a the business plan. For instance, one od the first chapters describes the table of contents, and then towards to end of the chapter tells you not to do it until last...next is a chapter about the executive summary, and then towards the end of the chapter it says one cannot do it until you have done everything else. O.K. Ms. Pinson, what order do you recommend one create a business plan? Your book says 'step by step', but fails miserably at describing the order of steps. Another shortcoming is the lack of examples...only a few examples for each topic. I would think that w/ software, the author would load up w/ examples....which is not the case. The software and book for defintion purposes is excellent. In terms of describing the priority of business plan steps (i.e. what to do first, then second, etc.) the book/software is a failure. In terms of providing abundant examples I would rate the book/software as a "C-".
