Not good with wifi [Posted on 2006-11-09] I bought this in order to use with a Bluetooth headset in order to make Skype calls. But whenever it's active, my wifi connection seems to be dropping in strength so the Skype calls are not good.
Wifi and Bluetooth both use the 2.4 GHz spectrum but Bluetooth is supposed to work around it to find a frequency that is not used. I guess this unit does a poor job of it. I found the Motorola PC850 works much better (even though it's only bluetooth 1.2)
Works great with my Treo 700w wireless sync [Posted on 2006-12-27] The installation was a breeze, had only one minor issue trying to determine what COM port the BT was using to connect to the desktop but I quickly figured that out. WiFi access seems ok to me. Will test more often and post later. I thought it was a neat product and so far its been going good.
Works perfectly with Mac OS X 10.4.8 & Bluetooth Mighty Mouse [Posted on 2007-02-13] After reading several online reviews and comments I ordered this model Bluetooth adapter to enable my wife's iMac to utilize the Apple wireless Bluetooth Mighty Mouse that she primarily uses with her MacBook (which has built in Bluetooth). I plugged the adapter into an open USB slot at the rear of the iMac keyboard, installed Apple's Mighty Mouse software and then simply restarted the iMac. After configuring the system preferences, which are very straightforward and understandable, both the hardware and mouse worked perfectly. We've experienced no problems after a month of continuous use. I highly recommend this adapter for Mac's if you machine does not have built in Bluetooth capability. In use it is indistinguishable from the performance of Apple's built in Bluetooth.
