Belkin F5U228 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 DVD Creator [Posted on 2006-11-09] We had tried several different USB DVD Creators prior to this one and found they would not work properly and caused problems for our software, after purchasing the Belkin our system has work great!!
Not easy to use [Posted on 2007-11-30] I tried for two hours to transfer VHS tapes to my computer and gave up.
Hopeless.
Excelent product. [Posted on 2007-12-07] If you need to transfer your videos from your camcorder, vhs, beta or any video source that has a rca output (composite or super-video), this is the product to buy. I transfered a vhs video to a DVD in minutes, you only need a free USB port and a line in/microphone 1/8" port. Great video and audio quality. Friendly video editing software included.
Get what you pay for. [Posted on 2008-03-22] My experience with this product and trying to get it to work was a nightmare. Five wasted days dinking around with it. I talked to support at Belkin 4 times and each time they could not give me an answer that would get me up and running. First off they gave me outdated software (ulead video studio 6) and i found out that version 11 is out. The manuel was quite confusing too, just not enough clarification and explaining. For example the instructions said gout out of the audio jack from your sound card and into the from of my VVCR player's inputs. That baffled me. I already was running out of the S-video jack of the VCR and into thier transfer device and into my USB. Should it not be audio out of the VCR to audio in of the sound card? SOmeone has got to explain the reasoning behind that backwards logic. Even the people at Belkin were reading from the manual and told me to do that. I had to return this item. Maybe the software was having a conflict with the computer. Could not they have offered to send the latest version? It was all a bad experience. I have no time to waste but Belkin wasted my time. If I would have gotten it to work i was told there would be sync problems anyway. I tried spending as little as I could but you get what you pay for. I had to go out and spend 200 to get a good one. I recommend the ADVC 55.by canopus. MY transferring of my VHS tapes to DVD is very important and the quality has to be there.
Not compatible with Vista!!!! [Posted on 2008-05-08] Belkin does not offer a Vista driver for this product. Don't waste your money if you're running Vista!
