Nice hub [Posted on 2007-12-06] Pretty good product. Used it for 3 month, everything works well. Nothing else I can think of that need to improve. It just satisfy all I need.
device not recognized frequently [Posted on 2008-02-23] This is not a good product.
I bought this product so I could have a USB hub about 10 ft from my computer. This one seemed like a good idea. It advertised to add 7 USB ports when the 2 parts were together (two 4 port sections - one powered and one non powered). And I liked that I could remove the 4 port piece.
At first this product worked well, but over time the product malfunctioned more frequently. Now the drivers need to be reinstalled every time I start my computer (sometimes the device won't even be recognized). I've determined that the problem is due to the powered 4 port base.
However, if I just use the non-powered 4 port attachment (to the base) I have no problems. I no longer use the powered base and instead just use the non powered 4 port attachment.
So I'm giving this product the lowest rating possible even though one of the 2 pieces does work fine because I paid for 7 ports but only got 4.
Great USB HUB for PS3 [Posted on 2008-06-24] I pick-up this hub for my 40GB PS3. I works great with an external hard drive, PlayStation Eye, and RockBand (guitar, mic, drums). And that still leaves one front port on the PS3 open and 2 on the hub!
No problems, hard drive spins up as soon as the PS3 is powered-on. Good overall design, attaching the permanent devices to the bottom (rear facing) hub allows easy access to the vertical ports (in my set-up).
The power cord connection is on the bottom hub (same side as the usb ports). The unit also has a blue LED (front).
CONS: The power adapter is way oversized in my opinion.
Belkin FSU706 USB Port Hub [Posted on 2008-08-25] Excellent product that takes a load away from your computer's power supply. A must for multiple USB requirements.
