I got this for my 17" Gateway Laptop. My laptop fans are located on the bottom. Since the base is not very sturdy... it kept blocking the below fans. So I returned this product.
I have to admit that the stand is really comfortable.

This product is made very well. I use it on a table or desk to elevate my laptop and then when I head to the couch it serves as a nice table. I don't know why some think it cools the laptop, it does not, it just keeps the heat off of your lap.

Our laptop was actually going in to thermal shut down because it was getting to hot- so we got this stand, and voila!!! the problem is fixed. We are VERY happy that we don't have to send our laptop for repairs. Clearly having it on a hard surface that didn't help with the heat generated, was a big problem.

This is a second of these notebook stands I purchased. This one is for my boyfriend. He and I spend lots of time doing work on our laptops and the holder does a great job protecting laps from the heat. It is a perfect size and height. It's light. The material is good for retention, so that the laptop cannot easily slide of the top. Perfect product all around--I'm very happy with it.
