Not for MacBook [Posted on 2008-06-25] It's cute, the colors are rich, zippers smooth, an it's made of lightweight yet thick material. However, that one inch does make a pretty big difference if you have a 13.3 MacBook like I do. It doesn't feel very secure in the sleeve because of that size difference, since there's an extra inch or so to spare in either direction, making the fit extremely loose. So just as a cautionary thing - this may NOT be a good choice for the smaller MacBook.
Looks better than it feels [Posted on 2008-06-26] The pictures and colors looked great. But the quality of the real product is very poor. The feel of the materials and zipper are pretty bad.
Great item for the price, careful on sizing [Posted on 2008-06-28] I purchased this item, Belkin 14-Inch Laptop sleeve(F8N047-BR) few months back. Before I purchased it I looked everywhere online regarding the sizing, since even though it says this is 14 inches doesn't mean it fits 14inch laptop. I found online a site that states
Size: 14.75" x 14.5" x 1.5"
Fits laptops: 14.5" x 10.5" x 1.25"
I have a HP Compaq laptop with the
Product Dimensions: 10.5 x 14.5 x 1.6 inches.
The laptop fits into the sleeve fine, but it was stretching a bit. I would prefer a little bit bigger on the sides, 1/2inch or 1 inch, so it doesn't stretch the way it does so I can put other things in the sleeve too, like a pen. Just be careful when you order and check the sizing carefully.
High quality for the price [Posted on 2008-07-04] Fits a Dell 14" Inspiron 1420 like a tight glove, with the one caveat being that I worry about the long-term durability of the zipper. Works terrific for protecting the laptop in a non-padded standard backpack. As for the smell, it's neoprene, what did you expect? If you are worried about this, go to an auto parts store and sniff some neoprene seat covers. If you can handle that, you won't have any problems with this.
Decent [Posted on 2008-07-15] Decent sleeve for carrying around. Provides minimal protection against drops, but has a very soft, plush-ribbed lining. Is stretchy enough to fit many laptops, including oversized batteries.
