This works great for the back of an iMac because it can swivel and tilt at an angle where it doesn't block other ports and not take up desk space. Price is a little high if you don't need its unique functionality.

USB hubs are a commodity. You expect them to just work. If there are small design features to make them more convenient, that's just icing.

I got this hub for my MacBook Air when I am at my desk. I picked the Belkin because I thought they are a reputable brand.

Unfortunately, when I connected a USB hard drive through it to take advantage of OS X's "Time Machine" backup feature, the transfer would freeze after about 3.7GB transferred. This is a problem with the hub, because it happened at the exact same point with two different USB drives, and disappeared when I connected the drive directly.

The rotating plug is also very thick and won't fit in the limited clearance to access the USB port on the MacBook Air. I had to use a USB extender cable, making the whole design moot.

Don't waste your time with this junk. A USB hub that tires out this easily isn't worth a cent, let alone the high price Belkin charges for it.

I use it with my Time Capsule to connect external hard drive & printer, it works "like a charm" :), seriously i was trying to use different usb hubs from different vendors, this one's form factor fits all that i need.
