Stunk from the start [Posted on 2008-04-17] It begins when I order one of these online. I wait a week, get the box and find no instructions in the box. I call Bissell. They waste my time for 10 minutes. I get nowhere. I call the store where I bought it. They say print it from the internet. My printer is packed for my move. ( The reason I needed the carpet cleaner) I call Bissell again. They promise the book in 2 to 3 weeks. Didn't get a chance to use it but it stinks already. Its going back to the store and I'll buy the Rug Doctor. So much for my $18.00 shipping surcharge.
Thank you! [Posted on 2008-04-27] I am very pleased with my purchase of the Bissell Upright Deep Cleaner! Delivery was timely and I'm happy that ordering it on Amazon.com was a pleasent experience and I thank you.
I'M VERY PLEASED WITH THIS MACHINE [Posted on 2008-05-05] I used my Proheat 2X for the first time on my slate tile floors and was absolutely amazed at the results. I previously used a Hoover Floor Mate Spin Scrub which was OK, but the Bissell has more of everything, especially brushes and cleaning power along with the capability of cleaning floors and carpets.
My tile floors are not sealed and have a natural look of multicolored stone. After a good once-over with the Bissell, my floors were noticeably brighter and cleaner, and the heater helped dry the floors in half the time.
I'm looking forward to using it on my carpets.
Love it so far! [Posted on 2008-05-07] I waited and waited for the right moment to buy this machine from BB, and finally it was on sale. After reading all the reviews I could find, I opted to purchase an extended service plan - it seems you either get a workhorse of a machine or a lemon, and I didn't want to take any chances! So far, I love it! My first project was an 8x10 berber area rug. Even though I vaccumed very thoroughly, the Bissell still pulled up pet-hairballs. I was careful to pick these up as I went along, to prevent them being sucked back into the machine. For users who complain about the fuzzballs and hairballs, I have to ask - Would you prefer these clogging your machine, or worse, the loose fibers/hair staying stuck in your carpet??? Also, when I went to empty/refill the water, I was careful to rinse out as much dirt & hair as I could. Yes, the bladder doesn't hold a lot of water (thus requiring frequent refills), but I am OK with this because the machine is easily maneuverable because it's not too heavy. Also, I actually LIKE the fact that I have to 'rinse and refill' frequently, so that I have the opportunity to rinse the machine to (hopefully) prolong its life. I did follow the instruction manual's suggestion and went over the rug again with the rinse setting, and I must say the rug feels very clean and soft to the touch. I don't know how long it really took to dry, since I cleaned late in the evening and went to bed shortly after, but it was dry in the morning.
While I cannot yet attest to the longevity of this machine, so far I am more impressed with its maneuverability and cleaning power than I was with the Rug Doctor I previously rented. I don't mind taking the time to use this machine carefully and exactly as the instructions suggest, if it means clean rugs!
If my experience changes, I will certainly update this review, but for now, I am pleased.
Satisfied [Posted on 2008-05-08] Satisfied overall, well designed with access for cleaning good
A problem with a leak in the fluid tank when inverted in the attitude for installation. Contacted Bissell and a new valve assembly was received however problem seems to be where the stopper meets the plastic tank.
Not serious but aggravating
Unit works well on both carpets and upholstery
Good Buy
