Works satisfactorily [Posted on 2007-02-12] I have used it primarily to support my bluetooth 1.2 accessories - mouse and headset. It has worked very well - no complaints. Installation was easy.
NOT FOR MAC USERS! [Posted on 2007-03-27] This device uses the built-in Apple Mac OSX 10.4.9 bluetooth drivers. Belking does not provide nor support Mac drivers. That is great, EXCEPT, the Apple driver does not support the HEADSET profile used in this Belkin device. According to the Apple website, only the D-Link BT-120 is truely 100% supported via all profiles.
So I plugged this in my Mac, it was recognized. It even communicated with my Palm PDA. But it would not communicate with any bluetooth headsets, and the Apple bluetooth setup wizard told me so!
Save your time and money and get the D-Link BT-120. The newer revisions (at least 5 now) of the hardware support USB 2.0 now and also EDR. Depends which hardware revision you get. For some reason D-Link has kept the same BT-120 model number even though they have really produced 5 different new devices over the years. Apple says this is the only unit that will work.... and it looks like they are correct unless the manufacturer supplies custom drivers for OS X!
Belkin says on the box that this device works with Max OS X. They also say this device has a headset profile. Both true statements separately, but together they are false. VERY MISLEADING BELKIN. SHAME ON YOU FOR WASTING MY TIME!
does not work [Posted on 2007-04-13] This product and its drivers do not work at all with the new windows vista or on my older computer with windows xp. I have tried two of these items with no sucess. Will never buy a Belkin product again!
Don't brand names mean anything anymore? [Posted on 2007-05-17] I bought this one by mistake thinking that it was compatible with my Blackberry. It isn't, and the installer is not even compatible with Vista. So check the website, right? Wrong. Belkin provides a driver that is more than a year old with no mention of any updates for Vista. An inquiry through their support system tells me that I might receive an answer within 3 days.
So if you're looking for something that is compatible according to Microsoft's list of supported devices, and then do a search through Amazon, double check the model number.
Unless you're stupid, this Belkin Class 1 USB Bluetooth just works fine. [Posted on 2007-11-13] I've used the two of these I have on my Macs (PowerBooks and MacBook Pros) and my Core2Duo iMac, as well as the four Windows PC's in my house and office. They just plain work fine and instantly!
Anyone who's had problems is just too stupid to deal with something as simple as plug-n-play.
