I've had the Buffalo Electronics IR-350 installed in my entertainment system for a couple years now and it has worked flawlessly. I use their IR-100 IR Receiver as the distribution block, and I've got four IR-E1 IR Flashers going to my various components.
It works well with the individual component remotes, as well as my new Logitech Harmony universal remote.

Please see my review of the associated IR-100 receiver module. The IR-350 is an excellent sensor, which is very inconspicuous when mounted in a cabinet panel (or in my case, a Radio Shack 4" x 2" x1" black plastic project box). Highly recommended.
