It works and is compact! [Posted on 2008-04-24] What it does:
The business card presentation case (as I would have called it) is fairly sturdy and compact, gets exactly one card out each time. If you are looking for less ceremony and more "get 'er done" this case might be just the thing for you.
You will be able to reach in your pocket or purse and have a card in someone's hand in under two seconds, which is pretty quick.
The mechanism works with a pair of flat springs in the lower half that push the cards up, and a small tab under the button that pushes the trailing edge of the top card forward and so the card slides out of the front slot.
What it doesn't:
The Business Card Case Holder does not hold a lot of cards. If you're attending a trade fair or association convention you will want to bring your trusty Rolodex card wallet for more capacity, or plan on loading this little deal quite frequently.
Aesthetics:
It's a little weird-looking in my opinion, due to the odd Old West scroll-pattern that's embossed into the flat surfaces of the case. The design is similar to what I've seen on presentation firearms. Not really my favorite design, but almost nobody will see these details anyway.
The case is made from a fairly thin stamped metal which has some slightly sharp edges; (I haven't cut myself yet) and it is slightly difficult to open until you develop a technique. If you read Chinese, the instruction sheet may be helpful.
Conclusion:
A good deal, value-to-cost ratio, wouldn't have minded paying more for higher quality, but as it is, pick up a few for yourself and to have on hand for easy gifts for business acquaintances.
A little thick, but works well... [Posted on 2008-11-23] There's no real style to this product. It has a decorative design reminiscent of an embossed western saddle on the front and back. It's not unnattractive, but it's not lux either. The case is a little thick, as it must be to hold the mechanism for delivering the cards. Usually, it dispenses cards one at a time. Sometimes, I get two at once. I think this is a function of the matte, linen paper and thickness of my business cards. It should function flawlessly with a glossy card.
Holds about fifteen cards. Again, it would hold more if they were thinner.
The case functions well and I like it (I bought a couple to hold cards in my car, at home, extras in luggage, etc. and I'm happy with them.) It's a businesslike tool. If you're looking for flash or something for a gift, this isn't it.
BEWARE!!! DO NOT BUY!! [Posted on 2008-12-29] yes i do know the item cost less then a happy meal, but this product is horrible. I received it and within 2 days it was completely distroyed. The first issue was a metal rod that started to slip out the side of the case. Then the pushing button fell off and would not stay on. With that not working the card holder has no use.
Would be the same as putting the cards in your wallet.
If this product was made of steal and had a better slide button, then it would be worth 10 dollars.
but i wouldnt take this product again, even if free.
