I had 30 gigs of photos on it worth much more than the drive when it failed to respond to 3 different computers. It makes a humming and clicking sound. My very old Buslink still works. My more recent Buffalo works. No more Buslinks. I would suggest backing up on an adjacent computer or on an extra interior drive- things that can be fixed or salvaged by repair people.
