Worst Pool Game Ever ? [Posted on 2007-10-26]
It truly baffles me how a game this poor could be released and sold for money. The physics are simply the worst I've ever seen. Masse shots are apparently impossible, balls do not respond to each other or to rails as they do on an actual table, and for some reason, Cosmi didn't think it was important to place diamonds on the rails. This makes bank shots and kick shots needlessly difficult.
More issues:
9-ball
1. If you shoot a combination, the game considers it a foul since no ball "hit a rail". Were the programmers really this ignorant of the rules?
2. If you hit a carom (hit off the 1-ball into the 2-ball and make the two) it's considered a foul. Here's an idea for when you want to program a game and charge people for it... LEARN THE RULES!!!
3. If you make the 9-ball and scratch, the ball is SUPPOSED to be placed on the foot spot (where you rack) but for some bizarre reason, the game places it against the side rail. Once again, were the programmers really this stupid or just lazy?
How can a group of programmers code a game and not even pay attention to the rules of the game? Why would they not even piece together code that comes close to the physics of an actual pool table? If I didnt' know better, I'd swear this was some freshman's school project.
If anyone is looking for a decent billiards game, THIS IS NOT IT.
Keep looking.
What a RIPOFF [Posted on 2007-11-13] I bought this game from Office Depot as a buy one get one free. I guess you get what you pay for. It didn't even INSTALL THE GAME! It put a Net Zero ad on my desktop!! Truly disappointing. And the packaging reads 2007, but the contents inside the case are all from 2005. Complete WASTE OF TIME!!
