CSI Junkie [Posted on 2007-09-10] The CSI games have a great thing going on. The games are challenging but not impossible and you feel acomplished after you've beat them.
(I made my daughter age 15 write this review)
All three CSI games in the package [Posted on 2008-01-19] All programs have many bugs and even the patches do not seem to fix them. Must follow specific steps vice using hunch to gather evidence to solve the cases. I could not get CSI #1 last case - I had all the evidence but the program did not agree. If smoother game play then it would be a great game. Another downside was that the CSI Miami game was on the CSI Dark Motives CD and visa versa! But with all this said I am a fan and will probably get CSI 3 & 4.
CSI/CSI MIami/CSI Dark Motives Triple Pack [Posted on 2008-01-28] This product is more or less what I expected. Being a 3 for 1 though, it lacked the quality of a single game. The first problem I came across was that the Dark Motives game and CSI Miami games had the wrong labels on the CD. Then, the worst problem was that while playing the Dark Motives, all the information was in French and after unsuccessfully trying to fix the problem, had to play the whole game in French. I don't think I would recommend it to anyone, unless you are bilingual.
Challenging and enjoyable [Posted on 2008-02-08] It was tough to get the hang of remembering to analyze every little thing and not move the mouse too fast to catch all the evidence, but after that it was a lot of fun.
Great, but with glitches [Posted on 2008-06-29] I'm a big fan of the CSI computer games, but more so the later games than these. The first of the two games in the double pack has much simpler, shorter cases than the later games, which makes gameplay a bit boring. It is also slightly difficult to navigate in comparison to the later games (such as 3 Dimensions of Murder and Hard Evidence.)
My main problem with this item was that after finishing the first of 5 cases in the second game (Dark Motives), all of my user dialog choices turned to French. Most of the words on-screen were still in English and the characters spoke in English, but whenever I went to interrogate a suspect or ask questions, all of my choices were in French. The game is still playable this way (especially if you have at least a little familiarity with romance languages) but it would be much easier if it didn't have this glitch.
I have no idea if buying the two games separately would resolve this problem, or if there is a patch to remedy the situation. I didn't bother looking.
What I would recommend is this: The games are a lot of fun if you can get past the glitches. If you're looking to get the complete collection of CSI games, then this double pack might be great for you. But if you're interested only in perfected gameplay or are just starting to play the CSI games, give 3 Dimensions of Murder or Hard Evidence a shot before you turn to these.
