Works, but i would NOT recommend. [Posted on 2008-05-04] At the time I purchased this, nearly all the expresscard readers on Amazon were not SDHC compatible and the ones that were had reviews that indicated that they did not allow many laptops to sleep with them inserted. This card had no reviews so I took a chance, it seems I should have waited as there is now a SanDisk reader available (SDAD109A11) that one customer indicates does not have these issues and is cheaper.
I cannot put my laptop to sleep with this card inserted, not only does the laptop immediately wake up but when it does so the card is no longer recognized and you have to restart to get the card to work!
I gave this a low rating because this is an extreme annoyance for anyone who carries a laptop in order to offload files. I certainly do not want to power off or remove the card every single time I transfer files. Despite this the card still does function as a card reader. I have only tested with a SanDisk Ultra II 4GB SDHC card, when coping files from the card I get about 11MB/s which is probably about the max for this card although I get the same from the USB reader that comes with the card.
Mac Book Pro & Card Reader a poor match [Posted on 2008-06-16] More often than not this reader works as intended with my SanDisk Ultra II 4GB SDHC cards. There are too many times it simply does not mount the card. Restarting often helps but not always. I have a USB Sandisk Micromate (tiny) which always works. I find this unreliability a real inconvenience and do not recommend this Expresscard. I have a Mac Book Pro running 10.5.3
