Honey I shrunk the ink cartridge! [Posted on 2008-11-14] I have always used Canon printers and loved them, but this may be the last time. I held up this cartridge model and the one for my old i860 side by side and realized that the new ones hold about 25% less ink (though are no cheaper). Don't tell me this isn't intentional on the part of Canon. Although the ink works fine and the print quality is great, the cartridges run out shockingly fast. I just printed out about fifty 5"x 7" images using all colors, and a new blue cartridge has already triggered the "low ink" warning emblem. Second, it is such a pain trying to figure out which cartridges are compatible. The cartridges for my new MP620 looked so similar to the ones for my old i860, and I spent a frustrating hour on the Canon website and on the web without finding any information on whether it is safe to interchange them. I noticed another reviewer mentioned that there was incomplete compatibility listing on the cartridge packaging as well. The cartridges for older models look virtually the same and yet apparently are incompatible; I consider this a design flaw because the fact that Canon has not standardized their cartridges among the printer models means that twice now, when the printers have died, I've been stuck with expensive, incompatible cartridges. If anyone from Canon reads this, PLEASE get your act together -- there is no excuse for ink being this complicated, and you shouldn't be shortchanging loyal customers by decreasing the longevity of the already very expensive inks. Next time I get a printer I will be carefully researching which manufacturer provides the best ink cartridge longevity.
Good price, Great Quality! [Posted on 2008-11-22] I know this OEM ink is expensive, but the quality of this ink can't be matched by the NONOEMS. If you care about the quality of your prints, this the way to go. I have used all kinds of after market products, and no matter what they claim about their quality, they just can't compare to oem. I also ended up with clogged print heads and at least 1 trashed printer. Print output with this ink is almost flawless, and [...] bucks is a good price as well.
