Got this printer for three years [Posted on 2002-10-31] No problem at all. But if you need to print a lot of stuff, you 'd better get a laser printer.
What a hunk of crap [Posted on 2003-10-29] Sucked. Clunky piece of junk. Though it only cost me potatos to buy... but it cost me a forture to operate. If you own one do yourself a favor and through it out with the empty ink and buy something economical. $35 for black and it prints... no it bleed ink onto the paper at a rate of 500 pages per tank... AHHHHHH! That's scary. 7 cents a page. Canon please bend me over and take my money.
The best Printer I ever had. [Posted on 2005-10-30] I owned this printer since 1998 and it is still working. It is reliable. It let you print a lot of pages before the ink is out. You can network this printer without a problem. It can easily be put on a print server and used by all the computers on the network. I don't have driver on disk anymore but the driver is still available on the net especially on canon's website. The only problem I have in recent months is the ink is becoming scarce. Most stores don't carry the ink anymore. I just recently found the ink on amazon.com which, is great for me.
Overall, I recommend this printer.
OK if you can get one for $50 or less [Posted on 2006-04-07] Worked fine for a couple of years then one day just stopped responding. Price for used one is outrageous. Price for cartridges is equally outrageous. Get a refill kit from Sams' Club.
Best Little Printer Ever! [Posted on 2007-09-17] I have had this little printer for over 7 years. I print lots of documents and this little printer just keeps going and going and going. I admit it is slow by the standards of printers today but this has been one reliable workhorse. I use ink refills and I am able to reuse each cartridge for at least four rounds before having to purchase a new cartridge. This is definitely the best little printer I have ever had.
