Good deal on a fair printer [Posted on 2008-04-05] I really don't have any complaints for this printer but it's not exactly new tech from Canon either. It does everything adequately with no noticeable flaws. It's not terribly slow and it doeasn't look bad. The price was right. I do not regret this purchase.
good printer, eats color ink [Posted on 2008-04-10] i print things in color so i definitely go thru alot of ink.of course ink is expensive. which i still dont understand. the cheapest i found ink (color) is 60 bux for 1 hi capacity cartridge which is like maybe 75 -100 pictures?> the print quality is great. i love the borderless printing and the intuitive menu. I had trouble with installing it on vista, but installed it ot my xp machine and created a network share, which works great.
Good muti-function prointer for the money. [Posted on 2008-04-21] I have had this printer now for 3 weeks and it is the best low-cost multi-function printer I have owned (3 so far). I hope this performs over time the way it has at the start. No problems with printing, copying and faxing. The paper feeder works well, which is rare on low-cost units. Printing quality is high and the scanner, along with the software that comes with the unit is top notch.
Great Printer! [Posted on 2008-04-29] The MX310 is by far the best printer I have ever owned. It is very well built and prints very sharp copies. I have sent a 48 page fax with speed and ease. I could not be happier with my purchase and the price was very reasonable for such a quailty unit.
Junk is Junk is Junk [Posted on 2008-04-29] Two major inconveniences that are totally unforgivable:
1. The so-called "telephone priority mode" still allows the machine to answer ALL incoming calls after :30. Whatever happened to just turning OFF the receive function? Junk.
2. Less than 3 weeks of service and the Auto Document Feeder stopped the "auto" part of its function-- I get to spoonfeed documents through the machine. This happened after a document jam; is the mechanism such a delicate flower that that's all it takes to wreck it? Junk.
On top of this, Canon's support site is worthless. The knowledgebase has nothing more than the common-sense answers that a lab rat would have tried BEFORE bothering with a knowledgebase. Junk.
Mine came (almost) free with my Apple purchase but, as a friend of mine says, "If someone offers you something for free, take as little of it as you can get." This unit is junk.
