Customer Reviews:

Best Photo Printer available for the Price [Posted on 2008-04-23]
For a long while I have looked for a good photo printer. Well, I finally found it in the Pixma Pro9000. I've had Hp printers prior to this one. They performed okay but the color was never of good quality.
Trying to get Hp support is like trying to find "a needle in a hay stack." After discovering that Hp's solution to VISTA support was to "upgrade your product," I sure did. I made sure I didn't buy a Hp again.
Canon support is excellent. I contacted them prior to purchase about OS support and drivers. Their response was fast and complete. This printer has performed excellent with vivid colorfully prints with excellent quality and its fast. I love the front loading of paper.
This printer produces professional quality prints without effort. The operation is smooth and competent. I have used various papers, Ilford, Hp, Kodak and Royal Brites; various sizes from 4X6, 8x10, 8.5x11 and 13x19: various finishes--High Gloss, simi-gloss and matt art paper. The output is seamless and consistent and prints are breathtaking.
If you want control of your photo work with professional quality, this is the printer for you. I did examine other manufactures but settled on this one. The printer is large but you must expect it to print 13x19.

Amazing Print Quality [Posted on 2008-05-26]
This thing is amazing! The print quality is exceptional... so much so that you can't tell it was printed on an inkjet and not a real photo developer. The drivers for both the mac and PC give you every option to control every little thing about the printer and print output it's great. The included software makes it really easy to print your photos too.

Great Printer with a little flaw [Posted on 2008-05-28]
I've used this printer for 3 months now and had some great results. There are always some pro and cons with everything out there now a days. The pros with this is that you can print images larger than an 8X10. The machine is capable of printing on cds with the right program and a cd disk holder that doesn't come with the American version. The European model does include this extra feature. I bought the extra cd holder on Ebay and it came with the extra program needed to get this machine to print on cd. The images looks sharp and clean with the right photo papers. The printer can print using two different feed on top and in the front which is nice. The printer is pretty straight forward since it is only design to print without having all the extra stuff that confuses you with those multi printers.
As for the Con the printer will only print good on Canon photo papers. I've tried several others like HP and Ilford and the prints came out bad. The only other paper that I tried that looked good after printing was Staples Photo Supreme Satin. The Magenta and the pink runs out the quickest so make sure you buy extra inks. Other than those, this printer is a pretty good printer.

Pixma pro 9000 makes exellent photos. [Posted on 2008-06-24]
Great photos, inks are in seperate tanks, very good b/w photos, easy to use. reliable...so far. The only thing I would like to see is a system that synchronizes what you see on the monitor with the pics this printer produces. Monitor to printer calibration systems are more costly than the printer itself. Rumor has it that if you wait a year or two, this technology will be incorporated into the next generation of printers. We shall see.

ink drinker [Posted on 2008-06-25]
I waited for 5 months to buy this printer after I was told at Comp USA that this was the state of the art printer. WRONG. This printer drinks ink and costs hundreds to keep running. I had a paper feed problem which no one at Canon either understood of cared to involve themselves with. So my $99 Epson does most of my printing. I have also found it difficult to calibrate with my Mac so a lot of ink is wasted getting the color right. Too much money for too little.
