Great printer [Posted on 2004-04-21] I have been using my printer now for a year and I still love it. Crisp colors and easy to use and refill. Great price--I'm happy with it.
First 12 months was fine.... [Posted on 2006-02-27] Have had this printer about 15 months. It worked fine for the first twelve months, now out of warranty and, depite many, many attempts at changing cartridges, cleaning and re-aligning print heads, I can only get magenta to print out stripey. Driving me nuts! Spent £20 on new cartridges three days ago (because I hadn't used the printer for a while) and still no luck.
Can't get to UK Tech Support page, so no help there.
Shall I get it repaired or ditch it for something better?
ALMOST 2 YEARS & GOING STRONG [Posted on 2006-05-27] I have read some other reviews that stated after a year or 15 months they began having problems with this printer. I have had mine for almost 2 years and no problems encountered yet; and I use it alot.
I love my printer. Easy to use, easy to change individual ink cartridges. I mostly use it for office use but I am very pleased with the photo quality as well.
I would have to say it is a great printer.
canon printer i550 [Posted on 2006-07-06] I got my i550 printer more than 3 years ago and never had any problem with it; the printing is as clear as it was from day one [maintenance helps]. Although "old tech." by today standard, I highly recommend it for home use. I will not part with mine until it dies on me. Long live the "i550".
Low maintenance, good printer [Posted on 2006-09-13] I've had my i550 for several years now. Works great. I like only changing ink for the colors that are used. It never refuses to print based on counting print jobs (a problem that I had with an Epson). No issues with the quality of print.
