Excellent [Posted on 2007-07-17] CnC3 is by far the best of the CnC series. the story line is much batter than any of the previous. The grapics are amazing. The ONLY complaint I have is the sound. If you're looking at another part of a map you can't hear ANY of the action going on off-screen. Even if it's off of the screen by a little. No biggie, you just have to pay attention better to your units. You don't get a warning anymore if your units are under attack.
XP or better [Posted on 2007-07-21] The product reviews for Ea Games: Tiberium Wars and TW Kane Edition say the games are compatible with Windows 98 and 2000- they are not.
Basically as good as "Generals"... Classic Startcraft still better! [Posted on 2007-08-29] I guess I had pretty high expectations... especially with the all-star cast... but it's overall not that much better than the very last game, Command and Conquer: Generals which I liked for the most part. Ok, there's better graphics and a neat little story line with the movies and all... but gameplay is the same.
I will say that I agree with one of the other reviews that there needs to be a "cap" of some sort on the higher level units (ie. higher costs, limited units at one time, etc.)
One last thing... I had a ton of trouble getting it installed! Kept getting an error. When I looked online... apparently there were tons of others with the same problem... and EA Support would never get back to me or the others in the various forums. I was going to take it back and I happened to find info on how to fix it which worked. But it took time to fix EA's mistake and was complicated especially after spending over $60... and I was lucky I know how to do some of these things.
So I am obviously even more disappointed because of the time I feel I wasted working on this problem in anticipation of a great new game which was just ok.
Great gameplay [Posted on 2007-09-10] Although they went with the "if ain't broken" method (just like the road Starcraft 2 appears to be taking), it still packs a punch. One of the best RTS in years. And for those with a beefy system, get Company of Heroes too!
Tiberium Wars: Quick, but fun [Posted on 2008-05-27] It was rather quick for an Electronic Arts game, but still fun. I recommend playing it in Normal or Difficult mode to get the most out of it. I love the Command and Conquer franchise that EA has set up, and look forward to their next release.
