I purchased one of these notebooks in May 2006. I would say that I am quite satisfied with the performance... I haven't had any problems in terms of speed.. I get about 130mins battery life with the standard 6 Cell battery with the wireless on, which isn't too bad. It does get a little warm, but not uncomfortably so. I recommend it if you need a computer for light surfing/student use.
