not for the audiophile but for basic uses it is just what you need it doesn't have a bulky sub box like all the other speakers out their so its good for a small desktop.

This is a very good set of speakers with a low price tag. I have used it with my laptop and desktop computer and it works really well. I have used it to listen to music, play games or view college lectures, and it creates enough high-quality sound to cover my 1 Bedroom apt!

However, the glitches in the product come into picture when you are trying to put it to a limit. If you are a gaming wizz or a rock fan and want to have surround sound effects with high bass/treble, then you might want to spend some extra bucks and get a higher end version like Gigaworks from Creative. The voice quality is not adequate for such purposes.

average speaker and too small power [Posted on 2007-09-13]
I got the pair to replace a cheap pair I had, but got mixed feeling about it once I connect it to my laptop. The sound is good without much distortion (only virtual perhaps) for such a small powered speaker pair, but it just does not have enough power or loudness level for considering as acceptably good, with about twice as much cost and half of power level as my cheap speaker pair. I'd certainly go for a better one next time.

Not four drivers! [Posted on 2007-10-22]
We bought some of these for my daughter. We were a bit disappointed that they were not very loud. But, overall, thought them good.

The she came complaining that the left speaker was cutting in and out. Sure enough, she had moved them around enough that the wire got crimped right where it goes into the housing. I removed the screws and opened the housing to rewire it past the broken spot. To my surprise I found that only the top of the two "speakers" was wired! I felt cheated.

Still feels deceptive to me!

So, OK speakers if you don't want any real volume in a large room. Bad design to think you are getting two drivers per speaker unless you check the fine print!
