WebcamNOgo on Windows 2000 [Posted on 2001-06-28] The camera appeared to work OK under Windows 98, but Creative have not got their drivers sorted out for it in Windows 2000, despite the packaging saying that it is compatible. It works OK with netmeeting, but Creative's own program, Webcamgo Control, crashes with a blue screen and reboots. I've not heard or seen any other bit of software capable of producing the dreaded blue screen under Windows 2000, but Creative manages to do it. Viewing Creative's feedback forum on their European website reveals numerous people in the same predicament. No response from Creative. So all in all, spending the extra cash for the most expensive webcam on the market has proved to be a complete waste of money. Won't touch another Creative product with a barge pole !!!!
A Surprising DUD From Creative [Posted on 2001-07-31] Having a Creative Sound Card, I expected nothing but a top-notch performance from this cam that I received as a gift. Boy was I disappointed. A nice appearance is the only thing the camera has going for it. Very poor picture performance, clunky adjustment interface and very likely to freeze up your machine. This version is not being made anymore and for good reason, but you may find them on sale at your local retailer, and I would strongly suggest avoiding the cheap price and going with something else. Perhaps Creative has gotten the bugs out with a newer version. If you are looking for a sound card, Creative Live! is top-notch, so you cannot dismiss all Creative Labs products (as someone in an earlier review did).
WEBCAN Go Plus [Posted on 2002-01-21] I recently got two of these items and they work great. I operate under Windows 2000 Pro, USB port and its very convenient. The software did not have any problem loading and the drivers work just fine with Win2000. Not sure about earlier Windows versions. I especially appreciate the "GO" feature. This camera takes pictures fine for WEB use.
Unpredictable And Poor Image Quality [Posted on 2002-06-16] This camera is completely unpredictable. The software is useless, and above all, the image quality is abismal. Don't beleieve everything they tell you on the package; it's just not worth buying.
Best Buy! [Posted on 2003-01-12] For the price, and the versatility, you can NOT beat this camera. From the moment I pulled it out of the box, I immidietly starting taking snap shots with the built in camera feature, as I was setting up the camera on my pc. I didn't have to wait long, as I didn't even need to restart (Windows XP), and began to download the photo's and live action video that I had just taken. If you're thinking about getting a webcam just to talk to friends and family, and need something to 'capture the moment', then i cannot stress the excelence of this wonderful device!
