save up your money and buy some digital speakers, these have the quality of a subwoofer and 2 regular computer speakers.

I have had this system now for about four years. It's held up over move after move after... you get the point. They were powerful enough to annoy the old lady downstairs in one apartment, wake up the baby downstairs in another apartment, drown out the neighbors having sex in another apartment. I was never evicted because of these speakers but I'm sure the neighbors were glad when I left. Especially the old lady.

Music sounds alright with these speakers. The high sounds are a little lost but the lows and midtones are great. Games are a real treat. The volume level is loud enough for the whole house to know when you've been called a "B--CH!" in Unreal Tournament 2003. Explosions and crashes are fun. DVD movies are a bit of a weak area. Voices seem a little muffled, and background noises get a little lost.

Best way to set up these speakers is to have them mounted on the optional speaker stands, or your nearby loft bed. Biggest problem with this is they get in the way (the stands and the bed). They should be in a five foot radius around you. I use my speakers with the Creative Live Drive Platinum 5.1. It's a pro-Logic card but has the option for digital output which would be great with the DTT3500. But for the money these speakers are fun.
