Value and Quality [Posted on 2003-06-04] When I purchased these speakers, I expected to get fairly decent computer speakers with a rear channel, and nothing more. I have used many poor quality speakers over the years, many of which costed much more than these, and hoped that these would at least outlast my previous purchases. I was taken completely by surprise by the quality of these speakers. For such a small package (and relatively low power), these things deliver strong, clean bass while still having excellent midrange quality. Loading in the Matrix DVD provided near-movie theater quality sound, and gaming became much more exciting with the ability to hear rockets flying past my head. I simply cannot endorse this product enough. If you want to break into the world of surround sound, you will not find a better value.
Great Product [Posted on 2003-06-15] I saw these speakers in a local Fry's ad. I needed some speakers, and my PC supports surround sound, so I thought I would give these speakers a try. Installation was a no-brainer, and shortly after hooking these spakers in I put on some music, the sound was superb. I repositioned the speakers and played a movie, I felt like I had a mini home entertainment system. If you want some great speakers for a low price, buy these, they're great.
Excellent Speakers [Posted on 2003-07-09] these speakers are excellent. they have excellent midrange and the bass is superb. the Matrix has never sounded so good. the only better set of speakers i have ever owned was another set of Creative speakers, the DTT2200's, but these cost well in excess of £100, and i've now sold them (bit of a mistake) :( whenever i build another computer, i will seriously consider these 4400's.
THIS ROCKS !!! [Posted on 2003-07-28] Wow, that's what I said when I turned this on ! If you're a game adict, a music adict, or just a user who enjoys the good sound, well, let me tell you that this home theater is great. In the games for example, the dolby 4.1 is great.....you can feel your oponent's steps...., the wind..., the water..., everything, the birds, it's like if you where there........, also when you listen to mp3 you feel like in a concert. I've plugged them to my Creative Labs Sound Blaste Live Value!, and well, this is a great combo. If you're not decided yet for them...., you should buy them... they're cheap, and they give you a lot of watts !!
Great sound, but volume fluctuates [Posted on 2005-01-02] I bought these speakers about a year ago and plugged them into my 5.1 SB Live card in no time. After going from a set of 2.1 Altec Lansing AC-45s, these sounded amazing! They still do-with one caveat: suddenly, without touching the volume controller or speakers, the volume will noticeably jump and fall. It does't skyrocket or go mute. But, it is still an annoyance. I think the problem is in the wiring, but I could be wrong.
Overall, these are great entry-level 4.1s. For the price, they are tough to beat. The sound is rich and clear even at high volume. The bass pumps deep and precise without any crackling. Just don't expect these speakers to last forever.
