Cro-Mag Rally is Better than Mario Cart [Posted on 2000-12-08] I have been a Mac user for 15 years and this is the first game that I have purchased. I usually just play the demo versions of games. My favorite game of all time is Nintendo Mario Cart. This is very similar but pushes the concept to a superior level. My wife is likely going to kill me because I will waste a lot of time playing it. Im sure my children will love it (Santa is bringing it to me) (ho ho ho) BUT- beware it barely works on my iMac Rev B model unless I shrink the screen size. Its really designed for machines faster than 233 megahertz. I have a G4 at work and it works beautifully!
This game is a LOT of fun!! [Posted on 2002-08-27] I got this game free when I got a iMac.It is a lot of fun. There are3 ages,9 levels,and10 cars.I would buy this game NOW!!
Amazing! [Posted on 2003-08-04] Although the 1-players games become dull after a while, the mutilplayer feature is and remains great! There are 5 multiplayer (2 players on the same computer or more over a network) games: RACE *****- The same as the 1 player game, play one to warm up in the prehistoric times: choose Desert ***, Jungle ***, Glaciers ****, Crete *****, the Great Wall *****, Gizeh ***, Medieval *****, Viking Village ***** or Atlantis **. KEEP AWAY **** - One of the players is 'it' and has a strange color. The other players must avoid him, because when he bumps into you, he passes on the color, and because the first person who has had the color for a set number of minutes looses. STAMPEDE **** - The inverse of KEEP-AWAY, now you'll want to get the color, for the person who remains colored wins. SURVIVAL **** - Just kill eachother - a lot of fun! QUEST FOR FIRE ***** - The best part of the game: you must return your fire sticks from a distant place in the levels to your home base - the team who has returned them the first, will win. Overall a great game - you'll find youself playing it over and over. Highly recommended!
A great ride! [Posted on 2004-04-22] This game came pre-installed on my mac. . . And thats probably good, cause I would never have bought it otherwise! In cro-mag rally, you race around in "prehistoric" go-karts. I love all the 1 and two player races/games. EXEPT for alantis, the last level. Instead of go-karts, you are in a wooden submarine. This level is not very exiting. But other hen that, I would recomend this game )It also can be played over a network, so you can challenge your friends!!)
One of the most fun games ever!!! [Posted on 2007-03-29] I totally love this game. While it can be more frustrating than other racing games because of the need for more control and the fact that you can get stuck, and crash into things and have to back up to go around them, I actually think that this makes the game more fun and challenging.
Pangea Software, a fine company which has made many of the greatest games (in my opinion), has once again made a game which has lived up to their standard of fun.
You can either play as Brog, a cave man, or Grag, a cave woman. There are many exciting and cool weapons and powerups which are found on the tracks. Some tracks have some weapons that other tracks don't, so it's fun to use the weapons that you find. There are also lots of neat cars, but the best ones (such as the super fast Chariot or the neat Obelisk) must be obtained by entering the Bronze and Iron Ages.
You start in the Stone Age, which has three tracks, which you can practice so you can get good at them. When you think you've mastered the Stone Age tracks, you will do a tournament, in which you must collect eight arrowheads scattered around the track. If you're in the Easy skill level, you can come in third and be able to progress to the next track (provided that you've gotten all eight arrowheads). But if you're in the Medium or Hard skill levels, you have to come in first. Very difficult (and VERY fun!). The Bronze Age and Iron Ages also have tournaments which follow the same rules and are very difficult. The Bronze Age tournament is the hardest. Once in the later ages, you can practice the tracks for those ages just the same as what you did in the Stone Age.
There are also fun 2-player modes with some great little tracks. The music for the game is great!
